NBA Staff Panics Over ‘Anaconda,’ Barkley Asked to Stop Being Funny

TNT’s four-person hosting team for “Inside the NBA” is known for its in-depth analysis and laugh-out-loud moments. Recently, they added to their on-screen antics when a giant python was brought out. Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal were immediately scared out of their wits, while Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith remained in their seats. Barkley even got up from his seat to avoid the snake.

In another story, Barkley was asked to stop co-hosting “Inside the NBA,” one of his most famous daily jokes. Since taking over as host, one of Barkley’s favorite jokes has been directed at the ladies of San Antonio, Texas, home of the Spurs. Specifically, he made fun of their weight and called them “big women.”

Later, NBA executives asked Barkley to stop the prank. Barkley later spoke in an interview about why he was asked to stop, saying that he was frustrated that he was asked to stop when he was just joking around. However, he understands that some people don’t take kindly to his jokes and he respects their decision.
NBA interior teams are known for their good chemistry and ability to get along. The Anaconda incident is a good example of that. Barkley is obviously a big part of the crew as well, and his jokes are part of what makes the show funny. However, it’s also important to respect the wishes of those who are offended by his jokes.
